What is IELTS?
International English Language Testing System or IELTS is one of the test that measures English proficiency of people especially the non-native speaker. It is usually required for educational and working purposes such as applying scholarship and job in the country which used English as the language of communication.
Basically, the test includes the four skill of English; listening, reading, writing and speaking. Each skill is assessed with the score ranged from 1 to 9 based on the number of correctly answered items for Listening and Reading, and sets of scoring rubric for Writing and Speaking.
The score of each skill will be calculated to obtain the overall band (score). In reading and listening section, you have to answer 40 questions. While during the writing, you must be able to construct short text which are divided into two types. Then, your oral communication ability will be evaluated in speaking section by answering several questions from the examiner.
